Dr. Tanya Osler (formerly Dr. Ruisi) has been a part of the Animal Medical Hospital team since 2016 and has been involved in veterinary medicine since 2004 when she served as a kennel technician in New York. She attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies and then University College in Dublin Ireland for veterinary school. She practiced veterinary medicine in Tampa for several years before making the move across the bridge to St. Petersburg with her husband. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery and feline medicine.

Dr. Osler has three rescue cats (Lasso, Ernie, and Kassi), all adopted during her time at AMH. Lasso was found next door to the clinic tangled in a rope and truck axel and required treatment for life-threatening infections. Ernie came to AMH after being hit by a car and required surgery for a broken hip, and Kassi was found in a cardboard box abandoned by our front door. Dr. Osler’s personal interests include singing and playing the piano.
